Pilgrim Lutheran Child Care presents activities through a curriculum framework designed to enhance the development of each child's spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth.
We offer a variety of "hands-on" experiences and choices through learning centers such as:
- Creative Arts and Crafts
- Imaginative Play
- Library
- Manipulatives, Blocks, Counting, Sorting, Patterns
- Science, Exploration, and Nature
- Homework Help (after school program)
Our balanced daily program includes:
- Indoor and outdoor activities which develop large muscle skills
- Nutritious meals and snacks
- Rest time and quiet time
- Group time with stories and music
We include God as a part of our daily activities. Our teachers freely discuss God and Jesus and our activity plan includes time for Bible stories, prayer and Christian music. The Christian calendar is observed with special celebrations on Christian holidays. Secular holidays whose foundations are not contrary to our Christian beliefs are celebrated. To meet the needs of each age group, daily schedules and activities are planned by the classroom teachers for each group. Weekly activity plans and daily schedules are posted for review on the parent information board.
Walking Field Trips- Written permission must be provided in advance for each child to attend each field trip. The times and dates of the field trips are posted on the bulletin board outside the Director's office.
