Mr. Jim Riedl is currently serving as principal at Pilgrim. Mr. Riedl is married and has two sons and two grandsons. He enjoys golf, running, reading, and is a movie buff. He is excited about the opportunity to serve as Pilgrim's principal for the 2011-12 school year.

Kathy Prehm, Preschool 3's - Preschool 4's
Mrs. Prehm has ten years Preschool teaching experience. She attended Arizona State University with a focus on Elementary Education and Marketing. Her passion is teaching young children about Jesus' love and the joy of what it is like to "go" to school. She considers her greatest parent compliment to be when her students ask their parents on a Saturday morning, "Do I get to go to school today?!" Mrs. Prehm is married with three children, her M&M's: Matthew, Michael and Megan. She enjoys walking while listening to her iPOD, attending Oregon Duck sporting events with her family, scrapbooking and gardening.
Carol Ewing, Pre-Kindergarten - Music
Mrs. Carol Ewing has eighteen years of teaching experience. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in early childhood education. She is an Oregon State Beaver football fan, and she loves her family, which includes three children, a dog (Bo), and a cat (Callie). Mrs. Ewing said about teaching at Pilgrim - "The joy I experience in teaching comes from the students themselves - when they discover a concept, master a task, or simply enjoy a song. To help them discover their God-given abilities is why I enjoy every day at Pilgrim!"
LeAnn Hilchen, Kindergarten
Mrs. LeAnn Hilchen graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with an English minor. She taught first grade for 4 years and has taught Kindergarten for 17 years. She also taught K-8 music and choir for 7 years and has been a church organist for 25 years. She is married and has 2 children--one at Pilgrim and the other at Westside Christian High School. Some of Mrs. Hilchen's favorite things about teaching are seeing the excitement in students' eyes when they discover something new, teaching the students how to read, teaching concepts through music, and using a wide variety of teaching techniques. Mrs. Hilchen's hobbies include playing the piano, sports, arts and crafts, and decorating for special events.
Aimee Noss, 1st Grade

Mrs. Aimee Noss graduated from Concordia University-Portland in 2001 with a BA in early childhood/elementary education. Since then, she has been blessed with six years of teaching experience, five in Kindergarten, and one in a blended second and third grade, all in private Oregon City schools. She is incredibly excited to begin this coming year as the new first grade teacher at Pilgrim. Mrs. Noss has 3 children. They like to fill their family time with soccer, sight seeing trips, playing outside and visiting Grandma and Grandpa in California.
Karen Kiser, 2nd Grade
Mrs. Karen Kiser has a BA in education from Concordia University in Portland. She has eleven years of teaching experience, with the last eight years at Pilgrim. Mrs. Kiser said - "Growing up I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Lutheran schools from Kindergarten through college. I feel fortunate to now be a teacher in that same system that provided me with such a quality education."
George Bredehoft, 3rd Grade
Mr. George Bredehoft is in his thirty-fifth year of teaching. He holds a BA in history from Concordia University--Seward, Nebraska, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University--Portland, and a reading endorsement with CTL from Concordia University--Portland. His wife serves as administrative assistant to the Executive Director for Education of the NW District, LC-MS. Mr. Bredehoft enjoys teaching all subjects, but especially religion and reading. He enjoys sharing Bible stories, his faith and prayer with his students. His hobbies include raising water fowl and practicing organic gardening.
Mary Loseke, 4th Grade
Mrs. Mary Loseke has been a teacher at Pilgrim Lutheran School for the past twenty-six years. In addition to her BS in education, she has received her M.Ed. in learning disabilities from the University of Nebraska. Mrs. Loseke says - "I challenge students to do their best in all that they do." Mrs. Loseke enjoys spending time with family and friends. She and her husband have five grown children and three granddaughters. Mrs. Loseke also enjoys working in her yard, gardening, letterboxing, and traveling. She is originally from Nebraska and so is a big Husker fan.
Debbie Frerichs, 5th Grade

Mrs. Debbie Frerichs has lived in Sherwood for the past 8 years. She is a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Portland where her husband Paul is the pastor. They have 3 children--one here at Pilgrim and the other two in Sherwood. She received her bachelor's degree from Concordia University--Chicago in elementary education. In her years of teaching, she has taught Kindergarten and 5th grade in Lutheran schools in Iowa, Klamath Falls and Sherwood. Last year she was an instructional assistant in a special education classroom in the Sherwood Public Schools. She is excited to be part of a Christ-centered teaching team again.
Diana Visser, 6th Grade
Mrs. Diana Visser has been teaching for eighteen years. She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Concordia University in Portland. Mrs. Visser was born and raised in Oregon and currently lives with her family in Sherwood. She enjoys sewing, crafts, sports, and camping. In particular, she loves to teach middle school math and to share the love of Jesus with the students. She considers "outdoor school" to be a highlight of the school year for the 6th grade class.
Chris Herold, 7th Grade
Mr. Chris Herold has taught for the last nine years at Pilgrim, starting in 2002 as a second grade teacher. He earned his bachelor's degree in history with a minor in Political Science from Lewis and Clark College. Mr. Herold earned his Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree from Concordia--Portland. When not teaching, he enjoys most backcountry activities, scouting, reading, and basketball. Mr. Herold has been asked to wear many costumes including the Easter Bunny, Santa, a reindeer, and a Greek; he has also served as an attack dummy for a police dog. He is married to Kellie, and they have two children. Jake is headed to Concordia in the fall and Ryan is a sophomore at Beaverton High.
Becky Stehle, 8th Grade
Mrs. Rebecca Stehle is currently in her thirteenth year of teaching. She received her BS in education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. As the middle school science teacher, she loves sharing the miracle of God's creation through all of the areas of science. Her favorite team in the NFL is the Packers.
Anne Story, Spanish
Mrs. Anne Story is Pilgrim's Spanish teacher. She graduated from California Poly-Technic University. She has been teaching Spanish for the last five years at Pilgrim. She enjoys watching children grow more fluent in their understanding and speaking of Spanish. Mrs. Story has a husband and three children. She enjoys water and snow skiing, camping, reading, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Story said about teaching at Pilgrim - "Pilgrim is a wonderful school full of children eager to learn academics and the Word of God. I feel when the children leave Pilgrim they are very well equipped in both their educational and spiritual development."

Mrs. Kimberle Groh graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree, specializing in management information systems. She spent 12 years as a systems analyst/applications developer before becoming a full-time mom. She is in her second year as the Computer Teacher at Pilgrim. Mrs. Groh is married and has three children--two attend Pilgrim and one is at Valley Catholic High School. Her favorite baseball team is the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants.

Linda Schroeder, Assistant Child Care Director

Ms. Linda Schroeder is in her first year as the Assistant Child Care Director at Pilgrim. She moved to Oregon in 2009, along with 7 other family members. She has worked with children in various capacities, such as associate counselor at Lutheran Camp Perkins in Idaho, assistant toddler teacher at a YMCA child care, associate counselor working with teens at a Native American drug and alcohol treatment facility, and with children of all ages as an intensive behavioral intervention specialist in the home, school, and clinical setting. Ms. Schroeder received her Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Irvine in behavioral science/psychology. She was also near completion of a degree in early childhood education. She has one daughter who attends Pilgrim Lutheran School. Ms. Schroeder is excited to be working here at Pilgrim because of the loving, Christian atmosphere which allows her to share her love of Christ with the children and their families.
